Today (Friday March 14th) was game day here in Hartford,
Connecticut. Teams came from Canada, Brazil and the
US. Our team represented Canada well. The crowd enjoyed
the singing of our national anthem, O Canada. Our team
encountered a few problems at the beginning of the day,
hopefully we can come back and overcome these problems
and win some matches. Mantis played 3 matches so far
and has only won one. Penalties were given out like
candy and our team as well as many other alliances suffered
greatly. As of right now, 2: 47 pm, we have won our
second match and have finished our fourth in total.
A WOOT WOOT goes out for our talented sabres.Stay tuned
for more info tonight. The team is in the pit right
now answering some questions for the media. After a
good day's hard work, they deserve a little spotlight
by meeting the founder of FIRST Robotics, Dean Kaymen.

It is now 3:44pm,and we have just finished our fifth
match. Our red alliance has done it again, winning 60
to 42. It was a great match, and Mantis was on fire
(not literally, of course). Mantis started strong and
ended it just the same. Our alliance got one penalty,
but Mantis was clean. We have another match coming up
soon, and it looks like we're doing fine over here in
Connecticut, check back soon.

Right now its 4:22pm, and Dean Kamen gave a speech
on gracious profesionalism and how technology has helped
the society for many people by showing us how technonlgy
has helped many disabled people such as people with
no arms. It's technology like this that helps our economy
but at the same time lifting the spirit of the weak.
We really enjoyed talking to Mr. Kaymen and learned
a lot. Thanks for checking up on us, and we'll have
more soon.

After the Mr. Kamen speech, the teams have started
competing again and the Sabre Bytes are up next at 4:40
pm. Mantis was great during the last match and we are
expecting even better results this upcoming match. Music
is blazing and hearts are pumping as the Sabre Bytes
approach the playing field. STAY TUNED!!!!!!

Our last match went out with a BANG! Even though we
had lost the match by a long shot, our spirit was roaring
and hopes were still very high. We still have two more
matches tomorrow and hopefully we accumulate the most
amount of points. Mantis' battery was not functioning
properly and therefore lead to the loss of our alliance.
Today was the first day of the award ceremony we had
not aquired any awards but hopefully that will soon
change for tomorrow's competition.
